The DCIF announces new chair and vice chair

May 14, 2025 | DCIF News

The DC Investment Forum (DCIF), a not-for-profit research group, welcomes Dave Whitehair as its new chair, and Lindsay Nickerson as vice chair. Mark Austin, the DCIF’s previous chair, will now become immediate past chair of the group and remain on the board until the end of 2025.

Dave is director, institutional at Lombard Odier Investment Managers, a fresh thinker in the world of DC and a long-standing voice around the DCIF’s table. He is no stranger to innovative industry groups, having previously been chair of NextGen, the industry group which champions fresh talent. He spent over a decade at Fidelity before taking on senior business development roles at Franklin Templeton and Janus Henderson, joining Lombard Odier in recent months.

Lindsay brings the consultant’s perspective into asset management. She joined Nordea Asset Management a year and a half ago, having spent a decade at Aon, latterly as an associate partner. Passionate about responsible investment, Lindsay has helped to shape the DCIF’s soon-to-be-released Investing in the UK paper.

Dave Whitehair said:

“Chairing the DCIF comes at such an exciting juncture for UK DC pensions. In turn, we have a really exciting research agenda for the year ahead. Investing in the UK and decumulation will be a key focus, both through research papers and the next season of our podcast. I am looking forward to playing a role in shaping the industry’s direction of travel on DC investment in the year ahead.”

Lindsay Nickerson added:

“I’m excited to be working with Dave and fellow DCIF members focussing on investment fundamentals. The pensions industry has navigated significant regulatory changes, yet our shared goal remains helping members achieve sufficient capital for retirement. In the year ahead, we’ll bring stakeholders together to identify actionable priorities that maximise projected risk-controlled retirement outcomes through the DCIF’s research agenda.”
