Please save the 10th June, 2:45-5.30pm, for the 2025 DCIF Annual Event

The Politics of DC Allocation: Government Direction vs Trustee Discretion

Black and white QR code on a white background. The UK government is calling on pension schemes to play a central role in powering domestic growth.  But opinions differ on how we get there – and whether boosting domestic growth is in members’ best interests.

Together with Daniela Silcock Pensions Research, we’ll launch research which explores some key questions which we’ve explored together with the pension scheme and wider industry community. They include:

  • To what extent should domestic investment be encouraged – or mandated – for UK pension schemes?
  • Which UK-based investments offer the most promise for DC schemes?
  • What are the barriers – both practical and philosophical – which are stopping us from doing this today? And what are the red herrings?

At this event, you will be able to connect with leading voices across pensions, policy, and investment — and help shape the next chapter of UK pension strategy.

Please note that registration for this event is free to pension schemes, consultants and asset managers who are members of the DCIF. Asset managers who are not already members of the DCIF will need to join us to attend. If you are an asset manager who would like more information, please contact us at [email protected].
